How does it work?
In the plugin settings, you can choose between two security levels.
- Access key – enter your own access key, for example mykey, and you will then be able to access the administrator area via /administrator?mykey.
- Access key + key value – enter not only the access key but also a key value, and you will then be able to access the administrator area via /administrator?mykey=value.
Redirect settings
The ITMedia HideAdmin extension also lets you choose what action should happen if a user enters an incorrect admin URL. You can choose from three options:
- 404 Not Found – the user will see the browser’s message indicating that the requested URL does not exist.
- 403 Forbidden – the user will see a 403 error, meaning they are not authorized to access the given URL.
- Redirect to the website homepage – the user will be redirected to your site’s homepage.
